Roger and Lynnie at the Steinway, Feinstein’s 54 Below. It was a thrill to accompany Lynnie on “Daddy” and “Craving”. 54 Below is an intimate room seating only about 150, and it was crammed. What an evening! Many in the cast had been part of the initial run of Eubie! in 1978. It was touching to see the patina on those roles. The stories and reminiscences were flying thickly before and after the show. Gregory Hines, in the cast of the original run, is no longer with us. But his brother, Maurice, channeled his presence wonderfully as MC for the night. And the spirit of Eubie Blake was powerful in the room. The Broadway legend attended many performances of the show’s initial run.
